Background…

After qualifying in Italy, Mr. Dario Inzerillo moved to England in 2005.

Working in London, he became an expert in macular degeneration (AMD) and other retinal diseases, as well as a highly experienced Cataract surgeon.

Since 2015, Dario has been a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at University Hospital Southampton (Southampton General Hospital and Lymington New Forest Hospital).

His special interest is Medical Retina, and he is the lead for his department’s Intravitreal Injection service (Avastin, Eylea, Lucentis, Ozurdex and Iluvien) for the treatment of macular diseases including AMD, Diabetes and Vein Occlusions.

As a cataract surgeon, Dario operates in the NHS at Southampton General Hospital and Lymington New Forest and privately at Spire Southampton Hospital. He is also a highly valued cataract trainer for doctors in training at Southampton Eye Unit.  Dario is an experienced general ophthalmologist, and, in addition to Medical Retina, his areas of expertise include glaucoma, dry and watery eyes, eye floaters and lid cysts.

His dedication to patient safety led to him taking on the role of Governance Lead.

Dario is often involved in charity missions abroad, including Africa and Central and South America.
